KU IT Temporary Service Account
University of Kansas departments and employees frequently host non-KU affiliated individuals and groups. Many of these circumstances create a need for a temporary electronic ID in order for the visitor to access campus services and computers. Examples of these circumstances might include temporary workers, vendors, visiting scholar programs, summer workshops, community training programs, or various other types of sponsored events.
To accommodate these needs, KU Information Technology has created Temporary Service Accounts. KU IT requires the Temporary Service Account to be tied to the individual user, and the user must be sponsored by a campus department (to ensure the account user follows acceptable use guidelines, as stated in KU Policy). A KU IT Temporary Service Account will require the user to set up his or her Online ID, using the KU Online ID account set up pages.
To initiate the approval process for a KU IT Temporary Service Account, please select the request type below (individual or group accounts). After submission, KU IT Account Management staff will contact you within 24 hours. If you have questions prior to being contacted by KU IT Account Management, please call 864-0439.
