      KU Information Technology provides several options for campus users needing storage resources.

    • Data support
      The GIS and Data Lab provides workspace for KU students, staff and faculty, as well as assistance with numeric, geospatial, statistical and related data. The Lab supports GIS and statistics-related class work, teaching and research at KU.
    • Database Creation (Details)
      KU Information Technology offers assistance in creating an online database for your web site, and an online database creation request form for people who want to maintain their own database.
    • Deskside Coaching
      Deskside Coaching is personal computer assistance in your office, tailored to fit your needs. Available for faculty and staff only.
    • Desktop Conferencing
      KU Information Technology provides a desktop conferencing service that supports and encourages collaboration with students and colleagues on campus and around the world.
    • Desktop Support - Application Patch Management

      KU IT Workstation Support provides automatic Microsoft Windows and Sophos antivirus updates, patches for standard applications and security updates. $

    • Desktop Support - Full Support Package

      Technical support for university owned machines is available through KU IT Workstation Support. $

    • Digital Publishing
      Digital Publishing Services provides support to the KU community for the design, management and distribution of online publications, including journals, conference proceedings, monographs, and other scholarly content.
    • Digital Text Collections
      Search, browse and display digital text docuemnts in the Kenneth Spencer Research Library.
    • Document Management
      See Hawk Drive for details about document sharing and storage.
    • Firewall Management (Details)
      The IT Security Office offers firewall management and/or design to assist departments in developing, deploying or managing firewalls. $
    • GIS and Data Lab
      The GIS and Data Lab offers workshops and other training resources, access to GIS and statistical software, assistance working with data, and large-format scanning and printing services.
    • Grade posting
      Enroll & Pay system allows faculty to post grades electronically at the end of each semester.
    • Hawk Drive (Details)
      Hawk Drive provides one location for all KU faculty, staff and student employees to share files, manage file portals, store and publish their content, collaborate on research projects and reduce administrative costs.
    • HR Pay
      Personnel related staff can get access to, and training for, the KU HR Pay system.
    • HR Payroll
      Personnel related staff with job duties related to Human Resources and Payroll activities may get access to the HR/Payroll system after attending training.
    • KU Anywhere
      KU Anywhere provides secure access to resources on the KU network (to use Outlook or access a departmental file server) from off campus locations. Service available to faculty (including emeriti), staff, GTAs and GRAs.
    • KU Card
      Use your KU Card to pay for meals, lab printing, check out Library books, and more.
    • KU Info
      A great source of information about KU and beyond. Call with your questions, or go to the website to browse the Q&A database that the KU Info staff uses.
    • KU IT Knowledgebase

      The KU IT Knowledgebase provides the KU community with a self-service solution for obtaining assistance with IT-related questions and services.

    • KU Online ID
      The KU Online ID (and associated password) is your key to access many online services at KU including email, Blackboard, Enroll & Pay, Kyou portal, etc.
    • KU ScholarWorks
      KU ScholarWorks is a digital repository for scholarly work created by KU faculty and staff. It makes important research available to a wider audience and helps assure its long-term preservation.
    • Kyou portal
      Your first stop for online services at KU. Access email, course schedules, grades, put money on your KU card, purchase a parking permit, renew a library book and much more--all from one location.
    • Media Classrooms
      Find out which classrooms are designated as media classrooms, how to reserve a media classroom, and what equipment is installed.
    • Music on Hold
      Service that allows licensed, pre-recorded music and KU-related items of interest to be played while callers are on hold. Currently for Lawrence campus phone numbers only.
    • Network Time Protocol
      Network Time Protocol (NTP) is an Internet protocol used to synchronize computer clocks to the agreed upon standard of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
    • Video Conferencing
      Campus video conferencing services are provided by KU Media Productions.
    • Video Services

      KU offers several services that support using multimedia and desktop conferencing to enhance learning, provide professional development and encourage collaboration with colleagues around the world.

    • Virtual Service Desk

      Report technical issues online and check the status of any issues you have open.

    • Voicemail
      J-TALK is KU's complete call answering and voice mail system. Available services include mailboxes, bulletin boards (outbound messages only) and automated attendants.
    • VPN
      VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows access to campus services, such as Outlook or a local file server, from home. KU's VPN service is called KU Anywhere. Only available for faculty (including emeriti), staff, GTAs and GRAs.
