Server Hosting (Managed Services)

KU campus departments may choose to locate physical or virtual servers in the IT Data Center located in the Computer Services Facility. Services provided include 24-hour system monitoring, controlled power and temperature environment, secure facility, backup, restore and offsite storage services, and problem management. KU IT will work with individual customers to design a managed services agreement which fits their needs. $

Any KU department or research unit.

Requirements

Department- or unit-owned rack mountable server that must pass a security review by the IT Security Office, and completion of facilities support documentation. Virtual machine options are also available.

Cost of Service

There are fees involved in providing this service and they vary depending upon individual server requirements. The fees will be calculated and included in a managed services agreement document which will be presented to and negotiated with the requestor.
