  • What can I do about a virus infection?

    There are many operations you can perform to rid your computer of an infection. First, we would recommend you run an immediate virus scan with the Sophos Anti-virus application. Instructions for use and other information about this tool can be found here. You may also want to try Housecall which is a free online anti-virus tool developed by TrendMicro.


  • Where can I get an antivirus program?

    KU provides Sophos Antivirus at no cost to students, faculty and staff. You can download it here from the IT Security Office.


  • Does KU provide virus protection for Apple computers?

    Yes, in some cases. Sophos antivirus is available for download for OS 10.2 (Jaguar) and OS 10.3 (Panther) and OS 10.4(Tiger). If you would like an anti-virus application for your Mac, you may download Sophos here.
